WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bard College men's cross country team competed at the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by William College, on Saturday.

Bard placed 11th, led by Clemente Esponilla, who finished 44th, and Oliver Pawelek, who was 49th.

"It was a good day for the men's team," Bard coach Billy Poole-Harris said. "Everyone is still coming off a tough week of training and it will show in the future for our first years. Clemente ran a controlled, solid race. Bo Hopwood continues to impress, finishing his first 8K. Overall, we were able to run with Williams and some of the other top-ranked teams in the country."

Up next for Bard is the Western New England University Invitational on Oct. 15.
