The Bard men's cross-country team earned third place at the Founding Tree Invitational hosted by Hampshire College on Saturday morning.
Clemente Esponilla finished fourth overall and earned three points in the team results, running well on a difficult course in a time of 28:52. Senior
Jack Keelan was next across the line in 16th place, followed 10 seconds later by first-year
Able Bloodgood in 21st place, who ran 30:52 in his first collegiate 8k.
Bo Hopwood and
Elijah Flynn closed out the Raptors' top five, and
Joshua Schwartz and
Royal Hooper closed out the top seven, with Hooper running a three-second PR over last week's result despite the difficult conditions.
Western New England University won the event with 37 points, and the Raptors earned third with 81 points in the 11-team field.
After a busy season so far where the team has been in action every weekend through the month of September, the team has a week off before returning to Western Mass at the Western New England Golden Bear Invitational on October 14 in Springfield, followed by the Liberty League Championships in Geneva, N.Y. on October 28.
