ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College men's cross country team finished seventh out of 15 teams in the Fred Pavlich Invitational on a rainy Saturday at Bard's Montgomery Place.
Bard was led by sophomore
Clemente Esponilla, who shaved a minute off his season's best to finish 65th with a time of 28:27.4.
First-year
Elijah Flynn, the Raptors' No. 2 runner, ran for the first time at Montgomery Place and finished 80th with a time of 29:31.2, cutting down his 8k PR by two minutes. Senior
Jack Keelan had his last race at home and had a personal best of 30:05.8.
Sophomore
Bo Hopwood ran a personal best of 30:53.8, cutting down his time by a minute and first-year
Royal Hooper cut his personal best by a minute and a half to finish with a time of 36:15.5.
Middlebury won the event, followed by Amherst and Vassar, in an event that featured several of the top teams in the region.
Bard will travel to Amherst for the Hampshire Founding Tree Invitational next Saturday at 10 am.
