Box Score
ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team opened the season with a 1-1 draw against Elmira College on Saturday.

The Raptors statistically dominated, outshooting the Soaring Eagles 16-7, and holding Elmira to one shot on goal. But that one shot went in.

The game was in the 65th minute before Elmira's Abby Saturni (Rockville, MD) converted a nice pass from Mollie Hamilton (Victory, NY). The lead only lasted 53 seconds, however, as Bard's Abbey Labrecque beat keeper Gabe Carmona (Sylmar, CA) low to the near post to make it 1-1.

As it was before those two goals, Bard had the better of the play the rest of the way. The Raptors held Elmira without a shot on goal through the rest of regulation time and through both 10-minute overtime sessions. Labrecque and freshman Emily Weisman led Bard with three shots on goal apiece.

Carmona, a freshman, made nine saves for the hosts.

It was the first of five consecutive road games to start the season for the Raptors, who next travel to SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
