Box Score SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team was defeated by Union College, 2-0, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

Union had the better of the possession and the scoring chances early, and it paid off in the 21st minute. A long throw-in from senior Caroline Gorka (Altamont, NY) was trapped and blasted toward goal by sophomore Mollie Gilchrist (Johnsonville, NY). Gilchrist's shot deflected off a Bard defender and went to junior Lara Snowden, who scored from 15 yards out for a 1-0 lead.

Bard's best opportunity to tie came in the 72nd minute. Tracy Siris took a pass from Abby de Uriarte just inside the box and fired just wide of the near post.

Later, in the 85th minute, Snowden scored again to finish the scoring.

Union (10-1 overall, 2-1 Liberty League) outshot Bard 12-2. The Dutchwomen got two saves from Kayla Marti (Newburgh, NY).
