RECAP: Women’s Soccer Halted at St. Lawrence

The Bard College women's soccer team showed grit on Saturday afternoon, falling to the St. Lawrence Saints 0-5 on the road.

St. Lawrence scored in the 9th minute to make it 1-0. Two minutes later, Thayden Hamilton-Howard made a save in the low center of the net. At the 14:53 mark, the Saints made it 2-0. The third goal was off a corner in the 21st minute. At the 36:50 mark, Hamilton-Howard reached up to the top left of the net for a second save. With under three minutes remaining in the half, she made a third stop. On the counter, Alexandria Loner took a shot that went wide left. 

The Raptors' defense was tested early in the second half. 5:29 into the frame, Julianna LaFond made a save on a low shot. At the 56:42 mark, Brooke Egrestis took a shot that went to the top left of the net. At the 64:11 mark, St. Lawrence went ahead by four goals. LaFond made another save in the 65th minute, covering the lower left of the goal. She turned away another shot at the 78:24 mark, but at the 84:33 mark, St. Lawrence made it 5-0. Goldie Siff took a shot with eight seconds left, and it sailed high. 

Both of Bard's goalkeepers had three saves, and Camila Sandaal, Kaia Brady, and Goldie Siff each played 90 minutes. 

Bard will host Brooklyn on Tuesday at 4 p.m. for its Kick it Pink game dedicated to the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
