ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's soccer team scored eight goals for the first time since 2023, with Mahlia Slaiby and Brooke Egrestis each tallying two, as the Raptors defeated Brooklyn College, 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Brooklyn came out hot, taking two shots within the first six minutes of the game. Bard came alive after 15 minutes, as Mahlia Slaiby found Nikki Magnozzi's cross inside the box for a left-footed shot to the bottom right of the goal. The Raptors kept the offense going with two back-to-back shots on goal by Slaiby and Magnozzi; the second goal wasn't until a breakthrough pass by Melania Hracs that split two defenders and found Magnozzi. Magnozzi's first shot at 26:31 was saved by Brooklyn's goalkeeper, but she was able to get her own rebound and finish it off in the bottom right side.

With four minutes left, the Raptors got their third corner of the first half. Alexandria Loner delivered a perfect ball into the middle of the box, where Goldie Siff redirected it off her header to the top right corner of the goal. Bard had a 13-7 advantage in shots in the first half with Thayden Hamilton-Howard making three saves.

In the second half, the floodgates opened as Brooke Egrestis set the tone, scoring 1:41 into the second half. Egrestis beat out two defenders and was one-on-one with the Brooklyn goalkeeper and made her way past the goalkeeper for her second goal of the season. Not even two minutes later, Egrestis scored again as Slaiby delivered a powerful kick inside the box, and Egrestis slipped past two defenders and finished it in the bottom left corner.

At the 58:47 mark, Slaiby found a through pass by Georgia McCauley from the top of the box and she finished it off with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. Three minutes later, Bard earned a corner; the delivery was punched out by Brooklyn's goalkeeper but it fell right to Natalie Wing, and Wing finished it off to the bottom left corner.

Brooklyn didn't give up and found the back of the net at the 68:02 mark. The Bulldogs' goal did not stop the Raptors' momentum, as Hracs got past her defender and found a pass from Addison Varley. Brooklyn had two more shots on goal in the last six minutes, but Julianna LaFond made an incredible diving save at 84:40 as Brooklyn shot the ball into the top right corner of the goal.

Bard finished the day with 19-7 shots on goal and an 11-2 corner advantage. The Raptors will face Clarkson on Saturday at 2 p.m., as Bard celebrates their three seniors.
