ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College women's soccer team faced another nationally ranked opponent on Saturday afternoon, dropping the game to #17 William Smith 0-2 at Ferrari Field.
William Smith came out on the attack, scoring within the first four minutes. The Herons continued to dominate possession, forcing
Thayden Hamilton-Howard to make six saves in the first 18 minutes. William Smith had a pair of offsides calls nullify would-be goals, keeping the score at 1-0 throughout the rest of the half. Bard had a few chances in the late stages to attack, but the Herons defended with poise.
The second half saw Bard gain ground with its attack, recording its first shot on goal. At the 49:58 mark,
Melania Hracs got a step into the box and fired a shot that required a skillful save.
Ellie Welby got in the action with a shot with about 30 minutes remaining. At the 79:33 mark, William Smith took the first of six shots in an eight minute span. Bard was able to hold down the fort for the first five, but the Herons broke through with 2:37 remaining to make it 2-0.
Hamilton-Howard recorded a career-high nine saves.

Kaia Brady, and
Goldie Siff all played the entire 90 minutes.
Union will come into Annandale-on-Hudson to face Bard on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
