Women's soccer team shut out by No. 18 William Smith

Neena Marano played all 90 minutes of Saturday's loss to William Smith.
Box Score GENEVA, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team lost to No. 18 William Smith College, 6-0, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

William Smith sophomore Madeline Buckley (Wilmington, DE) had two goals and an assist as the Herons dominated possession and shots throughout. William Smith (11-2-1, 6-1-0 Liberty League) outshot Bard 25-5.

Bard's best opportunity to score came in the 67th minute, when Dana Badala struck a shot that was stopped by Herons' keeper Chelsea Dunay (Cicero, NY), and the rebound was pushed wide by Alana Shaw.

The Raptors (4-11-1, 0-6-1 Liberty League) used three goalies. Lena James made five saves, Amy Strawbridge made three, and Simone Leitner played the final 34-plus minutes and didn't make a save.

Bard has two games remaining, both at home. They'll host RPI in the final Liberty League game of the season on Oct. 20, then Utica College on Oct. 27 in a non-league contest. That last Saturday game will be Senior Day for Lena James, Abby de Uriarte and Perry Scheetz.
