ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Freshman Erica Newton (Berkeley, CA) scored 35 seconds into the match off a great cross from junior Erin Hannigan (West Pittston, PA), and the Bard College women's soccer team went on to defeat Mount St. Vincent in the Skyline Conference opener for both teams.

Freshman Maddy Huggins (Mukilteo, WA) bent a corner kick directly into the goal to make it 2-0 in the 33rd minute, and she scored again 10 minutes later off a rebound to make it 3-0 at halftime.

Freshman Eden Ward (Milford, NY) and Hannigan each scored in the second half. Bard outshot Mount St. Vincent, 28-1.

The Raptors hit the road to play Skyline powerhouse Farmingdale State on Saturday.
