The Bard College baseball team finally got on the field last week, and the Raptors performed well, going 3-1.

A couple of players in particular have gotten the attention of the Liberty League.

Freshmen Dylan Long and JP Fisher were honored in the weekly awards, released Monday, as the Pitcher of the Week and the Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Long played in all four games for the Raptors, and pitched twice. He first appeared in relief, pitching three innings of two-hit ball with no walks and three strikeouts to pick up the save in a 4-3 win over Lehman College, Bard's first win of the year. This past Saturday, Long started against D'Youville College and went five innings, giving up three hits, no runs, two walks and striking out nine. He got the win as the Raptors defeated the Spartans, 11-1.

Long also batted .583 with a double, two walks and six RBI.

Fisher batted leadoff in all four games for the Raptors last week. He hit .583 with two doubles, a triple, nine runs scored, one stolen base and three RBI. He also picked up a win on the mound, giving up one run over four innings with no walks and one strikeout.

Bard will head to Florida on Friday. The Raptors will play a single game against Sewanee on Saturday, a doubleheader against Colby on Sunday, and a doubleheader against Hamilton on Tuesday, Mar. 25, before returning home to begin conference play.
