ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's tennis team dropped its conference opener against Union on Wednesday afternoon by a 9-0 score.

Bard (2-1, 0-1 Liberty League) managed seven singles games against Union (1-0, 1-0) and two games in doubles. At No. 5 singles, junior Izzi Popolizio had a close first set but fell 7-5. Poplizio lost the second set, 6-1. Senior Lapis Dove won a game at No. 4 singles. In doubles, the No. 1 duo of Paige Houghton and Bella Ries won a game, and No. 2 duo Dove and Sage Saccomanno won a game as well. 

Bard will travel to Western Connecticut State on Friday for a 4 p.m. start.
