The Bard College women's tennis team battled on Friday afternoon but came up short, dropping an 8-1 decision at Western Connecticut State. 
Bard (2-2) got its point at No. 1 singles, as first-year 
Hanna Okalava defeated her opponent, 6-1, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, sophomore 
Paige Houghton battled in the first set but fell 7-5 before losing the second set, 6-2. First-year 
Dana Mulco had her debut singles match at No. 6 and won six games, while sophomore 
Lexi Sanchez won five games at No. 5 singles. In doubles, all three pairs at least won a game, with No. 3 duo Mulco and junior 
Izzi Popolizio winning four games. 
The women's tennis team will travel to Ramapo next Saturday for a 1 p.m start in its next match.
