AMSTERDAM, NY – The Bard baseball team opened a three game set against Liberty League foe Union College on Friday night, falling 11-3 to the Dutchmen at Shuttleworth Park.
Union jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning, and tacked on three more runs in the 4th before Bard got on the board. The Raptors scored a run in each of the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings but could not pull back Union's advantage.
Jared Toby hit his first home run of the season in a 3-for-5 performance, keeping his batting average for the season at .400, with an on-base percentage at .534.
Jack Williamson added three hits for the Raptors.
The Raptors return home on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon at Honey Field.
