Box Score 2 TROY, NY – The Bard baseball team dropped a pair of close games to RPI on Saturday afternoon, highlighted by a number of exceptional individual performances.
The first game was a pitchers' duel, with Bard's
Aidan Risse throwing six and one-third innings and allowing just three hits while striking out seven. RPI used a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to score the only run in a tight 1-0 victory.
Game two was a different affair, with the Raptors jumping out to a 7-1 lead after three innings, but RPI struck back in with six runs in the fourth en route to a 10-8 win.
Jake Stacey went 4-for-5 with three runs,
Sam Dumper went 3-for-6 with an RBI in the leadoff spot, and Risse,
Anthony Brigante, and
Mike Lynch each had two hits and notched five RBIs among them.
The Raptors look ahead to three non-league games this week, first visiting Williams for a single game on Tuesday before traveling to SUNY Brockport for a doubleheader on Saturday. The Liberty League crossover series takes place on May 6-7 and Bard's potential opponent will be determined this week by other conference games.
