ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Bard baseball team lost a 16-7 result in a non-league matchup against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday afternoon.
Nick Hubbe went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and
Jared Toby,
Michael Kurlan, and
Jimmy Famularo each had a pair of hits.
After Bard jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, Merchant Marine scored one in the second, two in the third, and one in the fourth, but broke the game open with five runs in the sixth.
The Raptors struck back with a run in the sixth, two in the seventh, and three in the eighth, but Merchant Marine pitched out of a bases loaded jam before Bard could do more damage.
Bard squares off against North Country rivals this weekend, hosting Clarkson on Saturday and St. Lawrence on Sunday, each for a doubleheader.
