Raptors host Clarkson for doubleheader

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Bard baseball team played a pair of games on Saturday afternoon at Honey Field, with Clarkson taking both ends of the doubleheader.

In the opening game, the first inning saw most of the action, with the Golden Knights jumping out to a 4-0 lead. Bryant Elliott then hit the first pitch the Raptors saw for a solo home run, but after Clarkson added two runs in the third, neither team scored for the remainder of the game.

Michael Kurlan went 3-for-3 in the game but Clarkson pitcher Mateo Sarabia otherwise kept the Raptors bats quiet. Andrew Love came on in relief and threw four and two-thirds of one-hit ball with two strikeouts.

Clarkson jumped out to an early lead again in Game 2, taking a 7-0 lead in the second inning. The Raptors scored once in the bottom of the second, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth, but Clarkson was able to maintain its lead.

Mike Lynch went 3-for-3, Nick Hubbe went 2-for-4, and Jake Stacey had a hit and an RBI. Sam Dumper, Aidan Risse, and Kurlan each had a run and a hit in the effort.

The Raptors are back with another doubleheader on Sunday, hosting St. Lawrence with the first pitch at noon.
