AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Bard earned a doubleheader split for the second day in a row, this time against Elmhurst University, finishing strong with a 10-8 win in Game 2.
A three-run double from
Mike Hannan in the first inning gave the Raptors the lead, and
Michael Kurlan had a two-run single in the 6th to tack on what ended up being the winning runs in the victory.
Bard also got RBIs from
Aidan Risse,
Anthony Brigante,
DJ Pearson, and
Jake Stacey, and
Bryant Elliott worked six innings to get the win.
In the first game,
Aidan Risse pitched well, throwing six innings and striking out 11, allowing just two earned runs in a 4-0 loss.
After four games in two days, the Raptors will enjoy a day off on Monday before closing the team's Florida swing with a game against Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Davenport on Tuesday. Bard will open Liberty League play on Saturday with a doubleheader against Vassar at Honey Field.
