ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team lost to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 12-10, in a Liberty League game on Sunday afternoon.
Bard scored four in the bottom of the ninth and had two runners on with nobody out, but RPI relievers wriggled out of the jam to give RPI the third game of the series. The teams split a doubleheader in Troy on Saturday.
"Tough one today," Bard coach
Andy Salvatore said. "They were able to out-execute us and hold off our late rally."
Jared Toby went 4-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored to lead Bard.
Jordan Myers added two hits and
Jake Stacey drove in a pair of runs.
"We're excited to get back out there against Williams on Tuesday," Salvatore said. "They are another good team."
Bard hosts Williams in a non-league game on Tuesday at 4.
