ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team defeated Williams College, 13-3, in a non-league game on Tuesday afternoon.
The first meeting between the school in baseball was called for darkness as the game headed into the bottom of the eighth.
"This was a nice bounce-back win against a good team," Bard coach
Andy Salvatore said. "We needed it."
Bard scored five runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back.
Jared Toby went 4-for-6 with a triple and two runs scored;
Jake Stacey hit his first collegiate home run, a two-run shot in a four-run fifth;
Jimmy Famularo had two hits and drove in three runs, and Rob Arciola had two hits and two RBI.
Bard looks ahead to a three-game Liberty League series at Ithaca this weekend.
"I want to see consistency, and for us to control what we can control," Salvatore said. "When we execute on the mound, we succeed."
