ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team lost a pair of games to Rochester Institute of Technology, 9-8 and 4-1, in the Liberty League openers for both teams on Saturday.
Bard was up 3-0, down 7-3, and up 8-7 in Game 1, but RIT pushed a run across in the top of the ninth to win it, 9-8. In Game 2, Bard was held to just two hits and lost, 4-1.
"Overall not the results we were looking for," Bard coach
Andy Salvatore said. "We did get some important innings out of the bullpen from
Andrew Love and
Andrew Cuschieri. We need to rebound and come back stronger on Sunday."
Jared Toby drove in three runs in Game 1, and
Jake Stacey had two hits including a double and drove in two runs.
Alex Luscher went 1-for-4 with a walk, four stolen bases, one RBI and two runs scored.
The series concludes on Sunday with a single game at noon.
