ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team defeated Mount St. Mary College, 8-4, in a non-league game on Sunday afternoon.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third, when a pair of bunt singles by
Jimmy Famularo and
Robert Arciola ignited what became a six-run rally, the big blow coming on a three-run home run to left field by
Jared Toby, his second of the year at Honey Field.
Bard stole seven bases, and the Raptors are 29-of-32 on stolen base attempts this spring.
"I think overall today was a good step," Bard coach
Andy Salvatore said. "We were able to get back to playing our brand of baseball."
Toby finished the day 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Jack Williamson went 3-for-4, and Famularo finished with two hits.
Aidan Risse gave up two runs over five innings to improve to 3-1.
The Raptors begin Liberty League play this coming weekend when Rochester Institute of Technology comes to Annandale for a three-game series.
"We are looking forward to conference play," Salvatore said. "Hopefully we'll be able to execute and get the job done."
