TROY, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team lost to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 68-45, in a Liberty League game on Tuesday night.
Bard was down four at halftime but a big run to start the second half put the game away for RPI.
"I don't think the score tonight was indicative of how well we played," Bard coach
Michael Lenahan said. "We made RPI work for everything and got a lot of good looks; but just couldn't hit them."
Heston Tucker led Bard in scoring with 10 points (5-for-5 from the field) in just five minutes.
Lazaros Panagiotounis had eight points and three assists, and
Azriel Almodovar added four points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
"I think we will look back on this game as a good building block for the program," Lenahan said. "Heston came on in a tough situation and really competed."
Bard's final two home games will be played this weekend; Skidmore will be in Annandale on Friday, and Hobart will be there Saturday. Saturday will be Senior Day for
Stam Koulouris.
