ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team lost to Hobart College, 73-67, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
Bard honored lone senior
Stam Koulouris during pregame, a four-year starter and three-year captain for the Raptors. He has been not only a consistent performer on the court, but a Liberty League All-Academic Team qualifier in every year that he was eligible. First year players aren't eligible.
Bard erased a five-point halftime deficit in the first two minutes of the second half, but Hobart put together a run and led by 15 midway through the period. The Raptors cut it to 64-62 with 1:26 to go, but Hobart hung on.
"We showed a lot of resiliency to fight back from double-digit deficits, twice," Bard coach
Michael Lenahan said. "Unfortunately when you dig yourselves holes like that, it's hard to win."
Elliot Harris and
Azriel Almodovar had 13 points apiece,
Tyler Bruns scored 12 points, and
Heston Tucker added 11. Koulouris had four points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in his final home game.
"It was great to honor Stam; he has given a lot to the program over four years," Lenahan said. "Now we will try to finish the season on a high note with three games next week."
Bard travels to Hobart on Tuesday, then finishes the 2021-22 season at Ithaca and RIT next weekend.
