The Bard College Department of Athletics and Recreation has named Mike Galantich as Interim Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, it was announced Monday.

Galantich was a successful high school coach in the region before coming to Bard last winter and working with the team through the Spring 2022 season. He was the head coach at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie for 10 years, earning Poughkeepsie Journal Coach of the Year honors in 2015, and Hudson Valley Sports Report Coach of the Year in 2017.

He remains the Program Manager and Head Girls Lacrosse Coach for the Northstar Naturals, and he is the Assistant Coach of the Dominican Republic Women's U-20 Lacrosse Team. Galantich is stepping into the top position at Bard following the recent departure of Rachel Vallarelli.

A graduate of Mount St. Mary College, Galantich was a Project and Operations Manager at Con Edison for 34 years before retiring in 2021.
