ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team lost to St. Lawrence University, 68-61, in a Liberty League game on Friday night.
Bard was down by as much as 13 in the second half, but the Raptors rallied behind
Elliot Harris, who scored 17 of his game-high 20 points while playing with four fouls in the second half. The deficit shrunk to five at one point, but Bard couldn't get any closer.
"I am excited about the way we played tonight, even though it was a tough loss," Bard coach
Michael Lenahan said. "That was the most together we've played as a group and I think we can carry it over. You have to go through these types of games to learn how to win, and this one will make us better."
Heston Tucker added 11 points for Bard,
Greg Farrow had eight, and
Kevin Le held St. Lawrence's top scorer, Trent Adamson, to a 3-for-11 night from the field and finished with four points and eight rebounds.
Azriel Almodovar had five steals, and
Lazaros Panagiotounis contributed eight rebounds and four assists.
"Kevin did an outstanding job in the center of the zone," Lenahan said, "and battling down low on defense."
Bard next hosts Clarkson on Tuesday night.
