GENEVA, N.Y. - Bard College junior
Noah Gulla become the third men's tennis player from Bard to win at a match at the ITA Regionals in the first round at Hobart on Friday morning.
Gulla defeated Nazareth College senior Ryan Lalik (Fulton, NY) 6-1, 6-2, to get into the second round.
He then faced the overall No. 3 seed, Justin Wain (Holmdel, NJ) of The College of New Jersey, and was eliminated 6-2, 6-0.
"It's always a good atmosphere seeing good tennis being played," Bard coach Roge Nesbitt said. "Noah was able to win his first round match easily. The second round match was much tougher and it really pushed him. Even though he lost, I believe it was a good experience for him."
Gulla joins two other Raptors as the only Bard players to get into the second round at the ITA Regionals.
