DANBURY, Conn. - The Bard College women's tennis team improved to 6-6 overall with a 7-2 victory over Western Connecticut State in a non-league match on Friday.

The Raptors got off to a good start by winning two of the three doubles matches.
MacKenzie Wardell and
Amelia Tiemann lost just two games at No. 2 doubles, while
Bella Martinez and
Isabelle Scarborough cruised at No. 3.
Then the Raptors took five of six singles matches, winning in the 2-6 slots: Tiemann,
Harriette Slagle, Martinez, Wardell and
Eva Grunblatt all won in straight sets.
Bard will wrap up the fall portion of the 2016-17 season on Oct. 22 at home vs. Sage. Five more matches await in the spring.
