SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The Bard College women's tennis team was bested by the Union Garnet Chargers on Wednesday evening.
At No. 1 doubles, Jesse Radzik and Lisa Kyrtoka joined up for the first time this season. At No. 2 doubles, the duo of Laura Kurbanova and Irene Won were topped 0-6. At No. 3 doubles, Lola Greene and Babina Paudel began their partnership, falling 0-6.
Kyrtoka was close in many games at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Radzik fought for each point and got a game, receiving loud cheers from her teammates. Greene was beaten in a clash with her Union opponent at No. 3 singles.
Won put a variety of shots over the net at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, Kurbanova started well, going up 2-0, but Union prevented her from picking up a win, 3-6, 1-6. Paudel made her collegiate debut at No. 6 singles.
Bard plays Mount Saint Mary next Friday at 4:30 at home.
