Raptors swept in opener vs. RPI

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's tennis team opened the 2015-16 season with a 9-0 loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a Liberty League match on Sunday morning.

RPI (1-0) swept all three doubles matches, yielding just three games in the process, and won all six singles matches in straight sets.

It was the debut for four newcomers to the Bard lineup; in addition to veterans Harriette Slagle and Isabelle Scarborough, Lily Schwartz, Amelia Tiemann, Bella Martinez and Lily Zacharias all played in their first college matches. Tiemann nearly took a set at No. 2 singles, falling to RPI freshman Nisha Rajamohan 6-3, 7-5.
