NEWBURGH, N.Y. - After losing 27 matches in a row, including eight to start this season, the Bard College women's tennis team has apparently had enough.
The Raptors followed up last week's 5-4 win over Western Connecticut State University with a 6-3 win over Mount Saint Mary College in a non-league match on Tuesday night. That's two in a row.
Complete resultsThe doubles matches were hotly contested, but Bard took two of the three points when
Harriette Slagle and
Lily Schwartz prevailed at No. 1, and
Lily Zacharias and
Bella Martinez won at No. 3.
Bard took four of the six singles matches.
Amelia Tiemann (No. 2), Slagle (3), Martinez (4) and Zacharias locked up the win for Bard. Martinez won her match in a super-tiebreaker.
The fall portion of Bard's 2015-16 schedule is over. The Raptors' next match is schedule for Apr. 3 at home against Rochester Institute of Technology.
