ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's tennis team edged Western Connecticut State University, 5-4, on Friday to snap a 27-match losing streak.

The Raptors (1-8) took two of the three doubles matches to go up early, but Western won two of the top three singles matches to even things up, with
Amelia Tiemann winning at No. 2 singles in straight sets for Bard.
Bella Martinez topped Olivia Mauro (Harwinton, CT) 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4, and
Lily Zacharias defeated Alisa Akam (New Fairfield, CT) 6-3, 7-5 at No. 5 to give Bard the win. Two of the three singles matches Bard lost went to three sets.
Western is 6-7.
The Raptors next host Lehman College on Sunday afternoon at 1.
