Bard downed by Mount Saint Mary, 14-6

Hallie Nolan caused three turnovers, picked up three ground balls and also had a draw control, but Bard lost to Mount Saint Mary on Tuesday night.

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Mount Saint Mary College, 14-6, in a non-league game on Tuesday night.

Freshman Katie Gattoni (Old Tappan, NJ) scored all of her team-high four goals in the first half as the Knights ran out to a 10-2 halftime lead. Mount Saint Mary scored the first four goals of the second half to make it 14-2, and Bard scored the last four goals of the game in the final 13 minutes.

Mount Saint Mary outshot Bard, 26-16, and Bard turned the ball over 23 times to Mount's 17. The edge in ground balls went to the visitors, 30-24.

Katie McGinnis (Shelton, CT) added three goals for the Knights (6-4), while Erica Massmann (West Babylon, NY) and Jen Gries (Hicksville, NY) added two goals apiece. Dierdre Ray (Belle Harbor, NY) made six saves.

Bard got four goals and an assist from senior Stephanie LaMont, a goal and two assists from Brianna Bean, and a goal from Alexandra Clarke. Winta Mehari made 10 saves.
