ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team opened the spring portion of the 2013-14 season with a 7-2 victory over John Jay College in a non-league match on Saturday afternoon.

Bard won two of the three doubles matches (one by default) and five of the six singles matches (with another by default) to improve to 2-5 on the season.

Kevin McDonald won at No. 1 doubles, 8-5. McDonald then won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, in straight sets. Ted Laport and Billy Kwon also won singles matches.

The Raptors will be right back on the Stevenson Athletic Center courts on Monday for a non-league match against Purchase College. It begins at 5:30 p.m.
