Raptors fall to RIT; one game left for five seniors

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Rochester Institute of Technology, 17-3, in a Liberty League game on Friday afternoon.

The Raptors have one game remaining in the 2014 season, and it will be played at home on Saturday at 2 against the University of Rochester. It will be the final game in the careers of Nadine Muniz, Neena Marano, Victoria Fleisher, Brianna Bean and Stephanie LaMont.

RIT scored five goals before eight minutes had elapsed in the game and cruised to victory on Friday. It was 8-2 at halftime.

The Tigers (5-9, 2-6 Liberty League) got four goals and two assists from sophomore Sage Sarkis (Honeoye Falls, NY), and three goals apiece from Ashleigh Caruso (Liverpool, NY) and Corrina Mandell (Corning, NY).

Bard (3-11, 0-8) two goals from Bean and one from Lamont; Joanna Regan had two assists and Lizzy Chemel added one. Bean led Bard with eight ground balls and five caused turnovers. Winta Mehari made 10 saves.
