ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team lost to Ramapo College, 7-2, in a non-league match that was a lot closer than it looks.
Complete resultsBard (1-4) lost a pair of three-setters in singles.
Kevin McDonald won the first set against Jacob Khodakov (Old Bridge, NJ) at No. 1 singles, then eventually lost in a third-set tiebreaker. Khodakov prevailed 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).
At No. 3 singles,
Ted Laport rallied from a set down against Willen Feygin (Fair Lawn, NJ) and eventually lost 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Billy Kwon put up a fight at No. 5 singles, falling 7-5, 7-5 to Mike Friedman (Wyckoff, NJ).
Bard's third doubles team of
Philip Poznansky and
Keillor Mose prevailed, 8-2, over Friedman and John Seaman (Hazlet, NJ). Ramapo is 2-0.
The Raptors don't play against until March.
