Box Score 2 CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - As members of the powerful United Volleyball Conference, the Bard College men's volleyball team had played seven teams ranked in the Top 15 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll so far going into this weekend.
On Friday, the Raptors played two more ranked teams - this time non-UVC foes - and they were swept by No. 13 MIT and top-ranked Springfield at the MIT Scramble.
Bard lost to Springfield, 3-0, by set scores of 25-20, 25-10 and 25-10. In that match,
Billy Williams had seven kills, and
Henry Kasiske had 14 assists and nine digs.
Host MIT dispatched Bard 3-0 by set scores of 25-8, 25-9 and 25-16. Williams had six kills and six digs; Kasiske had nine assists, and
Kai Bernier-Chen also had six digs. The Raptors are 9-19.
Bard's 2013 season will wrap up on Saturday at MIT. The Raptors will take on Regis College at 11 a.m., then Southern Vermont College at 1 p.m.
