Six Men’s Volleyball Student-Athletes named to the NEVC Academic All-Conference team

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — Six members of the Bard College men's volleyball team were honored as members of the New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) Academic All-Conference team. The six student-athletes honored were: sophomores Gideon Jacob, Pearse Esposito, and Will Beane-Rosenberg, seniors Georgi Chikolov and Moises Arteaga, and graduate student Evan McMahon

Gideon Jacob is majoring in Psychology. He played in 30 of 31 matches this season. Jacob recorded 112 assists, 58 digs, and 19 aces. He racked up a career-high 23 assists against Lehman, and he had a career-high 12 digs versus Elms. He is also a Division III Academic All-District team member.

Pearse Esposito is majoring in Written Arts. He played in 30 of 31 matches and started 29 this season. Esposito tallied 225 points, 163 kills, a .212 hitting percentage, 650 assists, 34 aces, 212 digs, and 49 blocks. Last season, he recorded the first triple-double by a first year since 2023. He is also a Division III Academic All-District team member.

Will Beane-Rosenberg is majoring in Middle Eastern Studies. He played in 13 matches, starting six. Beane-Rosenberg contributed 14 kills, three assists, four aces, 14 digs, and three blocks this season.

Georgi Chikolov is studying in the conservatory as well as computer science. Chikolov played in 24 matches, starting 15. He recorded 277 assists, second on the team, and currently ranks third in program history in career assists, with 1780. Chikolov recorded 74 digs, tallied 2 kills and 22 aces on the season. He is a three-time NEVC Academic All-Conference team member and a two-time Division III Academic All-District team member.

Moises Arteaga is studying in the conservatory. Arteaga played in 12 matches. He had 49 digs and two assists on the season. He tied his career-high in digs against Nichols, with 12. Arteaga is a two-time NEVC Academic All-Conference team member.

Evan McMahon is majoring in Vocal Arts. He played in 19 matches, starting 12. He notched 72 kills, 17 assists, 87 digs, nine aces, and 11 blocks during 2026. 

Honorees must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3/4.0 scale after the 2025 spring semester and achieved sophomore academic status at their institution at the time of competition.
