Women's lacrosse team wraps up 2013 season with loss at Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2013 season with a 15-6 loss to Vassar College in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

Bard junior Stephanie LaMont scored four goals, giving her a school-record 51 goals for the season. She set the record the previous year with 29. He point total - 58 points - shattered the previous record of 40 held by teammate Joanna Regan.

Vassar (12-3, 6-3 Liberty League) had a 6-0 lead midway through the first half and led 11-1 at halftime. Bard outscored Vassar's reserves, 5-4, in the second half.

Senior defender Elizabeth Annis (Princeton, NJ) led Vassar with three goals and an assist.

For Bard, aside from LaMont's four goals, Brianna Bean finished with a goal and an assist, as did freshman Mary-Elizabeth Clair. Junior Victoria Fleisher added an assist, and Maddy Huggins made five saves. The Raptors finish the season with a school-record six wins (6-11, 0-9 Liberty League).
