SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team cut an early 5-1 deficit to 6-4 with seven minutes left in the first half, but Skidmore went on a tear from that point forward en route to 20-8 Liberty League victory on Saturday afternoon.
A time out called by first-year Bard coach Hannah Taylor 10 minutes into the game seemed to settle things for the Raptors, who scored three of the next four goals in the game to make it 6-4. But Skidmore took a 9-5 lead into halftime, and outscored Bard 11-3 in the second half.
The Thoroughbreds (2-9, 1-4 Liberty League) outshot Bard 44-20, had a 26-14 advantage in ground balls and a 17-13 edge in draw controls.
The winners were led by sophomore Spencer Morgan (Ridgewood, NJ), who had four goals. Eight different players scored for Skidmore.

Joanna Regan and
Victoria Fleisher had a goal and an assist each, and
Mary-Elizabeth Clair added a single goal.
Maddy Huggins made 12 saves.
