Bard defeated by 19th-ranked RPI

Bard sophomore Joanna Regan scored twice in the Raptors' Liberty League loss to 19th-ranked RPI on Friday.

TROY, N.Y. - Twelve minutes into Friday's game against 19th-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Bard College trailed, 3-1.

But RPI (8-2, 4-0 Liberty League) scored eight consecutive goals before halftime and cruised to an 18-5 victory in a Liberty League game.

Bard (5-7, 0-5 Liberty League) scored on all four shots it took in the second half against RPI's reserves, but the Engineers scored on seven of their eight shots on goal in the final 20 minutes. For the game, RPI had a 20-4 edge in draw controls and outshot Bard 26-9.

Nine different players scored for RPI, led by freshman Mackenzie O'Neil (Duxbury, MA), who had four goals and an assist. Erin Pomerantz (West Nyack, NY) and Alissa Peterson (Gaithersburg, MD) added three goals apiece.

The Raptors got two goals apiece from Joanna Regan and Stephanie LaMont, a single goal from freshman Mary-Elizabeth Clair, and one assist from Hallie Nolan.
