Bard loses Liberty League game to Vassar

Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Vassar College, 13-5, in a Liberty League game on Tuesday night.

The Raptors, 5-7 overall and 0-5 in the Liberty League, fell behind early and never really threatened the lead. It was 6-2 at halftime.

Vassar (5-6, 2-2) got two goals apiece from freshman Katherine Stegmann (Austin, TX), sophomore Phoebe Tzannes (Lexington, MA) and senior Maura McCarthy (Newtown, CT). Senior goalie Heather Kesselman (Old Bridge, NJ) made her first start and got the win, making 10 saves.

Bard got two goals from Stephanie LaMont, and a goal and an assist apiece from Joanna Regan, Farah Akhtar and Brianna Bean. Maddy Huggins made four saves.

Up next for Bard is a Liberty League game against Skidmore at home on Friday at 4. The Raptors will host RPI the next day at 2. Saturday is Senior Day for the Raptors.
