ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 victory over Sage on Wednesday night, making the Raptors 2-0 on the young season.
Sage (1-2) won at No. 1 singles, but Bard swept the other five singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore
Jean Wong won the first set at No. 2 singles before her opponent retired. Other singles winners were
Julia DeFabo,
Nelle Plotkin,
Madeline Turner and
Lia Soorenian.
DeFabo and Wong combined to win at No. 1 doubles; senior
Sofia Commito teamed with Turner to win at No. 2 doubles; while Plotkin and Soorenian rolled to an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Raptors next host Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday morning at 11.
