NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - If you ask freshman
Alana Shaw, she's just trying to have fun.
Clearly she considers scoring three goals in a game fun - she did it on Saturday to lead Bard to its first win of the season after starting 0-3.
Shaw scored in the fourth minute after a keeper error, but MCLA (0-3) tied it before halftime, and it remained that way until the 57th minute.
Freshman
Valeriana Dema headed a corner kick into the penalty area, and Shaw put it away to give Bard a 2-1 lead. Less than two minutes later, junior
Perry Scheetz fed Shaw with a nice through ball, and Shaw buried that one, too, to make it 3-1.
The Trailblazers made it close again by scoring in the 80th minute, but the Raptors (1-3) held them off and have gotten one in the 'W' column.
Bard outshot MCLA 32-11. Freshman Jenn Osher made three saves.
Up next for Bard is Sage, on Wednesday, on the road at 4 p.m.
