ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's soccer team could not overcome RIT on Saturday afternoon at Lorenzo Ferrari Field.

Seven minutes into the first half, RIT drew a free kick just outside the 18, allowing the Tigers to take a shot on goal around the wall of Raptors defenders, but McKenna Reeves was there for the save. Three minutes later, Reeves scooped up another shot on one bounce to stall the Tigers' attack. At the 13:38 mark, RIT broke the scoreless tie after a free kick found the top of the net. Less than two minutes later, Reeves made a big-time save, diving to prevent a second goal. However, the Tigers scored a goal to make it 2-0 with 15 minutes left. Ellie Welby reacted well to a late shot, allowing the Raptors to go into the half with a two-goal deficit.

The Tigers took a long shot at the start of the second half, testing the awareness of Reeves, who saved it. Reeves saved another shot in the 53rd minute, and the Bard offense got to work. At the 54:44 mark, Mahlia Slaiby set up Bard's attackers with a well-placed corner, but the finishing touches weren't there. It did allow Carina Cooke to take a corner from the opposite side, but Bard couldn't capitalize. Under three minutes later, Reeves had an amazing save with her left hand to deflect the ball out of harm's way. In the 67th minute, RIT made it 3-0, which it stayed for the remainder of play.

Reeves stood out in goal, recording 14 saves. Natalie Wing and Cooke played all 90 minutes.

Bard faces RPI on the road on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
