RECAP: Women’s Soccer Travels to Ithaca for Season Finale

The Bard College women's soccer team had its final match of the season on Saturday, falling to the Ithaca Bombers on the road.

Ithaca started slow, with a couple of offside calls preventing their offense from flowing. An Ithaca corner at the 7:31 mark did not result in any shots, but less than three minutes later, the Bombers took the first shot of the contest, forcing McKenna Reeves to make a save. Ithaca generated two more corners and the Bard defense continued to deny the Bombers. In the 16th minute, Reeves made another stop in the bottom center of the net. At the 21:54 mark, Ithaca attacked the bottom left corner of the net, but Reeves was there again. The Bard goalkeeper held strong two more times at the 28:15 and 30:10 timestamps, allowing the Raptors to stay competitive. Isabella Vinces took a shot about five minutes later, but it went wide right. The Bombers turned it up during the final ten minutes of the half, scoring three goals.

In the second half, the Bombers drew a corner 13 seconds in, setting the tone. An Ithaca shot 1:21 into the half glanced off the top woodwork, causing the Raptors to take a deep breath after surviving a scare. In the 52nd minute, Reeves was called upon to make her first save of the half, and she was able to do so. However, an Ithaca corner allowed the Bomber offense to operate, and a fourth goal ensued. Reeves and the Bard defense regained their composure afterwards, as Reeves made saves at the 53:11, 54:31, 57:12, and 63:01 marks. Bard was able to drive up the field late in the match, and the Raptors took a corner at the 79:24 mark.

Reeves made 12 saves, accumulating her fourth game with double-digit saves. Natalie Wing and Nikki Magnozzi played all 90 minutes.

It was the final match for Bard's four seniors, Reeves, Carina Cooke, Isabella Tramposch, and Maya Farwell.
