Men's tennis team edged, 5-4

Sophomore Erik Wallulis won at No. 1 singles, and paired with Joel Richmond to win at No. 1 doubles, but Bard lost, 5-4.
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Bard College men's tennis team lost a 5-4 decision to Sarah Lawrence College on Sunday in a non-conference match.

Sophomore Erik Wallulis (Portland, Ore.) and junior Joel Richmond (New Hartford, N.Y.) accounted for three of Bard's four points. Wallulis won at No. 1 singles, Richmond won at No. 2 singles, and they worked together to win at No. 1 doubles.

Sophomore Mehdi Rahmati (Kabul, Afghanistan) and freshman Sam Denitz (Elkins Park, Pa.) teamed to win at No. 3 doubles to account for Bard's other point, but Sarah Lawrence College (2-5 overall) won four singles matches to pull out the victory.

Bard, 2-8 overall, next hosts SUNY Purchase on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in a Skyline Conference match.
