Box Score TROY, N.Y. - A game that began tight and went scoreless for almost nine minutes quickly became a blowout on Wednesday for the Bard College women's lacrosse team.
The Raptors broke the scoreless deadlock with four goals in six minutes midway through the first half en route to a 12-3 romp over Sage at RPI. Bard, 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the Skyline Conference, has doubled its win total from last year, the school's first with a women's varsity lacrosse program.

Farah Akhtar (Karachi, Pakistan) made it 5-0 with 10 minutes to go in the first half.
After Sage (0-2 Skyline and overall) responded with a goal, Akhtar scored again, and LaMont added two more to give the Raptors an 8-1 halftime lead.

Bard outshot Sage 30-16 and had the advantage in ground balls, 35-23.
Bard's next game is at Maritime College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
