Pressure brings women's basketball team first victory

Freshman Liz Freud had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Bard to its first victory on Tuesday night.
NEW YORK, N.Y. - Leading by a point, 20-19, at halftime, the Raptors decided to turn up the pressure.

It paid off.

The Bard College women's basketball team broke open a close game with a full-court press in the second half and cruised to a victory over Yeshiva University, 55-36, to earn its first victory of the season.

Bard (1-3) forced 32 turnovers, and seven of eight Bard players scored.

Freshman Liz Freud led the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds; sophomore Victoria Fleisher had 12 points and five assists; and junior Imani Jones contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.

Yeshiva is 1-1.

Bard's next game is Nov. 30, at the College of New Rochelle at 7 p.m.
