CANTON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to SUNY Canton, 65-33, on the first day of the Kevin Fee / Roos Classic Tournament on Friday night.

The Raptors (0-2) struggled early, missing their first nine shots from the field as SUNY Canton (1-2) ran out to a 13-2 lead. Bard finished the first half having made just three of 29 shots from the field. They trailed 29-10 at halftime, but their shooting got better in the second half.

Bard was led by freshman Liz Freud, who had nine points and six rebounds; sophomore Victoria Fleisher added eight points and four assists; and junior captain Imani Jones added seven points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman Cortney Whalen (Hammond, NY) led the Roos with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Bard will next play SUNY Morrisville (0-2) on Saturday at noon as the tournament wraps up. SUNY Potsdam defeated SUNY Morrisville in the first game Friday, 68-57.
